The Ruby Graphite Project is situated in southwestern Montana in the Ruby Range of Beaverhead County near the town of Dillon

Dillon is mainly a farming and ranching town with a population of about 5,000 and a tourist spot for fishing on the Beaverhead River and nearby waters.
The Ruby Graphite Project property has good access via roads and highways, and rail is convenient as well. The Project is located approximately 14 miles (22.4 km) southeast of Dillon via asphalt, gravel and dirt road.
Average temperature for Dillon is 44°F (7°C), ranging from 11°F to 30°F (-1°C to -12°C) in the winter to 50°F to 84°F (10°C to 29°C) in the summer.
The property is located in the Ruby Range mountains, an area with commercial talc production.
The terrain is rugged with granite, gneiss and marble outcrops. Vertical relief rises 2,500 ft (760 m) from Blacktail Deer Creek valley at 5,500 ft
(1,680 m) AMSL level to 7,978 ft
(2,432 m) at the peak of Crown Point within the Project Area. North-facing slopes are pine and fir timbered, whereas the south-facing slopes are covered with sage brush and prairie grass.

Like the talc mines, the Ruby Graphite project can be surface mined year-round, although historic mining was from underground workings.
